Need to raise janitorial prices for monthly service
I own a cleaning company and due to gas price increase and product price increases I have to increase the price of monthly services.

Does someone have a sample letter I could use? I don't want to lose clients

    Respectfully,
    T

I would keep it short and simple without going into a lot of explaining and apologizing in it. Everyone understands the gas situation right now.

You might write something like the following:

    Your business name.
Your phone number and any other contact information

    The date (Centered, also.)

Dear (clients last name, first name, business name, whatever you feel comfortable to put. Best to personalize it in some way, rather than make it to "Dear Sirs:")

(I, we) have enjoyed providing cleaning service for you.

Because of the increase in the prices for gas and products for (my, our) cleaning serivice and subsequent budgeting for that, we are finding it necessary to increase slightly the cost for (my, our) services. We hope that you understand.

Instead of the usual price per (room, week or whatever), your price will now be ($$$$)

(You may need to do some research on this and tailor how much of an increase based upon how far you need to travel to a particular client's location. You need to be fair.)

(I, we) greatly value your business and look forward to providing continued service to you in the future.

If you have any questions, please contact (me, us) at (phone number.)

    Sincerely,

(Your name, signed. And, not copied or stamped.)

    Printing of your full name.

The letter above should give you an idea how you could word yours. For some clients, you might want to consider calling them and letting them know about the increase, if you know them well enough, personally. The personal touch in business is the best.

    Best of everything to you!

I am replacing my basement shower with a tub. I have no idea though if I could just use the same drain and not raise the tub or not. So just in case, can I raise my tub, or would I have to put a 14" x 14" dap-thingy in for different drain piping? Appreciate any response, Paul
