    Homeowners liability for non insured contractors
    If I hire an uninsured contractor to trim a tree in my yard and he gets hurt doing so am I responsible in Nebraska?

    Yes - in any state.

    Insured means more expensive, of course. It's a gamble for the homeowner.
    And signing a waiver of liability won't help.
