Roulette in lasvegas
What the house would take on roulette... if I bet on black or 1 to 18 or even... when the 0 or 00 appear... do the house take all ( like in the south or only half in atlantic city)...

Any casino I've ever been in in Vegas, they take it all... the rent money, car payment, bus fare out of town... :(

I'm surprised Atlantic City only takes half. The zeros are what gives the house the "edge".

Some people told me that some casinos in vegas only have 1 zero but they don't remember what the house would take on a losing zero. I would like to know which casino have the best (to player) change to win; by play outside only. I don't want to spend too much time looking around

Very few casinos in Vegas have the European or single zero wheel. That is the only one I will play. I have a hot system an old timer gangster taught me back when I was a Federal prison guard. I played it a lot on the double zero then I found a single zero wheel and it was like night and day. On Roulette, you can have a note pad and keep track, unlike Blackjack. :(

So you want to make quick money on the roulette wheel eh?
Forget about the quick way.
Here's a very slow, boring way to make money at roulette.
Beg, borrow or steal $1,500 for your initial capital. Even more boring, you can save the money for your initial bank.
Go to the roulette table with a notepad and write down the results of red or black.
After watching the results for a couple of hours, there will eventually be a result of either seven reds or seven blacks in a row. You then place a bet of $100 to go against the streak. If you win the bet, immediately go home.
If you lose, double up your bet to $200. If you win, go home.
If that bet loses, double up your bet to $400. If you win, go home.
If that bet loses, double up your bet to $800. If you win, go home.
After a couple of months betting this way, you will have accumulated $100 on nearly all of the days you "bet". You will occasionally strike out with a $1,500 loss for the day.
You are not allowed to drink alcohol or change this plan. If you run out of money, then start saving again for the $1,500 bank.
It is such a mind boggling boring way to accumulate money.

Aaaahhhhh. So, you can lose money.
Seriously, making money on Roulette on consistent basis is a losing proposition.
However, you can make money on Blackjack if you learn to count and sit on tables which the blackjack rules are not that hostile. I made money consistently doing just that but I could not keep up with Casino's keep changing blackjack rules and betting schemes. It also got boring for me as counting pretty much removes any fun you have in gambling.

I learned to count cards as well as play perfect basic strategy. I found that even though I could stay in the game longer, the casinos usually won in the long run. It is extremely hard work and as you said, takes the fun out of playing... if losing can be fun! I really think that the card counting thing is perpetuated by the casinos to bring in more people that think they have a chance and to 86 the people that have a true talent to win. When I say a true talent I have seen people play that just go for it and walk away with thousands of dollors. They did not seem to be counting cards but the casinos can tell you that you are to lucky and not welcome anymore. If you complain to the gaming commission they say you are a card counter. The gaming commission knows exactly which side their bread is buttered on. They will most likely rule in favor of the casino. My system on roulette has won for me but I have seen the pit boss get a telephone call from the eye in the sky, walk over and whisper in the coupier's ear, then it all just goes bad from there. I even had one coupier that started cheating me. He would palm my winnings and act as if he paid me! About that time there were four security officers standind behind me as if to say... "go ahead, complain!". I was up $600.00 and in 15 minutes I was down to the $200.00 I started with. I was happy to leave with that! You cannot beat them. I know that for a fact!

Well, Casinos have to make money and it takes a lot of money to run one. So, if you are not the talented top 1-2% professional gamblers, you won't make money from Casinos in the long run.
Roulette has one of the worst odds for casino customers but one can make money in bj if you know what you are doing. I once won 19 out of 20 trips in a row playing about 8 hours per trip. Whenever they changed the rules (increasing 6 decks to 8 decks, removing surrender option, etc), I adjusted. Then, I took some time off and try to get back at it. Whoa! The rules have changed even more and my winning percentage dropped to half. Rather than keep adjusting, I just gave up. So, even for an accomplished counter, Casino continues to tweak their bj rules so that they will stay on top. If you break the game like Roulette, they will find a way to beat you eventually.

I believe I can answer this question best since I am a dealer at Caesars. If 0 or 00 hits the only bet that will be paid is one pertainind to the 0 or 00 such as a straight up bet on the 0 or 00, or a split bet containing the 0 or 00.
A bet on red will lose. A bet on black will lose. Ditto that for even and odd. Any column bet loses. Any 1st 2nd or 3rd twelve bet loses.
And just so everyone is clear... the 0 and 00 do NOT pay any differently. They pay 35 to 1 just like any other number. The only reason people love the 0's is because the casino paints them green. Big deal. If you want to cut the house advantage at roulette, find a wheel with a single 0. And by the way, roulette does not have the worst house odds; the card game Let It Ride does. Any dealer will be happy to help you providing it is not a slammed game. And remember that they work for tips! Some dealers can "track the wheel" which means that they can consistently hit the same area on the wheel. While this is seriously against the rules because it cuts the house odds, some roulette dealers will do this if you tip well. But they will probably only do it for a few spins so you can get in, tripple your money, tip them and go to another table. I hope this answers your question to your satisfaction.
