    Arc Fault Circuit Interrupters
I realize I have to run Arc Fault Circuit Interrupters for all three of my bedrooms. I was planning on using fluorescent lights in the closets of those bedrooms. True or False, Can I run fluorescent lights on an Arc Fault Interrupter circuit?

Code says only bedroon plug in outlets can only be on the AFC circuit. No lighting

Jeff is incorrect, code states all "outlets" which includes any receptacles, lighting outlets, and smoke detectors.

I refer you to Section 210.12 of the 2005 NEC. for AFCI requirements.

I then refer you to Article 100 Definition for Outlet.

Check with local code, some states have waived AFCI protection for smoke detectors.

Thank you for the follow up. Yes I understand that all bedroom outlets must be covered. My only concern was the fluorescent lights. Thank you once again.
