An absolute discharge based on a simple assault charge with no arrest over 15 months ago: are there any precautions for travel to the US? I have been told there are no records available for viewing by anyone after 12 months.
    Thanks,

Ok, you were arrested and was on some first offender program, you were told that after 12 months, they would do a absolute discharge.

Where was this, since you say travel "to" the US.

In the US, if the crime happened here, there is always a record, but it should not effect travel to the US

Wrong idea of arrest, if charges were made and you had to make a plea deal there is an arrest . But anyway, no it will not effect your travel to the US, it should not show up on a record that would effect that ability
