In my honest opinion, He probably shouldn't have been going through her phone. I understand that one shouldn't have a relationship that they are suspicious of, but maybe he wanted to make sure he was wrong?
He might have been getting signals that would make him suspicious. IF my boyfriend ever wants to know who or what I'm texting I just show him, or tell him, and he takes my word for it. I have nothing to hide from him, and neither him from me.

Although his behavior from lack of trust was inappropriate, it seems that he had reason not to trust her. Sending sexually explicit text messages, to me, is just as bad as cheating. If one is intimate with another, there should be no need to get attention of that kind from anybody else. If they do, they're still probably very insecure with themselves.

Also, I'd like to poing this out, I don't think that he'd post about his girlfriend randomly talking about an STD if he had known that he had one. If he did have one, there would probably be no real cause for concern on the cheating end, because he would have known where she had gotten it from. The fact that she thought she randomly had an STD when he did not, can be a very accurate indicator of one's partner cheating.

Secondly, If someone is not trusting, it does not necessarily means that they were the ones doing the cheating. There could be any number of reasons for it, such as past relationship issues or suspicious behavior from the partner's end.

All I'm saying, is that, when someone is in a relationship, yes, they are supposed to trust each other. But sometimes things change, and people change, and cause to distrust may develop. Intuition is a powerful thing. Some can be paranoid, but it's not always inaccurate if you go about finding the answers in an appropriate manner. Nobody has all of the answers, most people have different view points.
