    Thank you. We have been talking about waiting for a court order, but at the same time we haven't been too sure how that will look on us. But now that someone else has made the suggestion it sounds like the way to go. Not to pay until there is either a court date to work it all out, or a court order.

    If you pay and you shouldn't have it will be like getting blood from a stone to get it back.
    If your worried about paying then put the money into a trust fund until there has been a decision by the courts. That way you have at least something to fall back on should a judgement be made against you. It doesn't have to be an actuall trust but just a separate account for you to put money into so its set aside.

    Yes somebody mentioned setting money aside already for if it does end up his.
