Some worry that if Barack Obama loses and there is suspicion of foul play in the election, violence could ensue in cities with large black populations. Others based the need for enhanced patrols on past riots in urban areas (following professional sports events) and also on Internet rumors.
So who is playing the race card ?

Carville, who served as a senior political adviser to former President Bill Clinton, said that many Democrats would be very angry if Obama loses. He noted that many Democrats were upset by Sen. John Kerry's (D-Mass.) loss to President Bush in the 2004 election, when some Democrats made allegations of vote manipulation in Ohio, the state that ultimately decided the race.

Experts (What experts?) estimated that thousands of voters did not vote in Ohio because of poor preparation and long lines. Carville said Democratic anger in 2004 "would be very small to what would happen in 2008" if the same problems arose.

Carville said earlier this month that "it would be very, very, very dramatic out there" if Obama lost, a statement some commentators interpreted as predicting riots. In an interview Tuesday, however, Carville said he did not explicitly predict rioting.
But he did indeed imply riots.

I am learning all sorts of new codes. Not only are "socialism" and "welfare" codes for "black," wearing white is a “racially-tinged” wardrobe.

Slavery is over now and Black people scream racist because it's there why of getting us back. Look if a Black guy calls me all sorts of names I get angry and call them all sorts of names so if you really hate white people for this then your wrong. But if I attack you with a gang because your black then you have every right OK!

I really hope Obama wins this election. On several good key issues I do prefer Obama to McCain. However not just because Obama's economic plan has the middle and lower classes paying less taxes (which it does). And not just because the Democrats are less gullible than the Pubs to be suckered into staying in Iraq while the US suffers economic implosion pouring resources into a useless war (which the Dems are not as naive). But because after two hundred years the first Black man in the White House scares the bejeepers out of some of the most ignorant fools in America... and I enjoy watching them squirm.

    You betcha, Bobby! *wink*

Racism isn't part of the equation for Obama supporters. He's oh so much more than a black man.

We don't agree on most things Babram, but I do agree with you that the person making the comments above needs to be ashamed. It is clear what his motives were...

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and guess that his his car radio dial got stuck on a Rush Limbaugh affiliated station. BTW I do believe that this "Louis Duiguide" is an African American. So when I say "fools" I'm an being equally indiscriminate across the USA.

It has irritated me for years that apparently, a racist can ONLY be a white person.
That is a steaming pile of bovine excrement.

In this country, the US experiment, the melting pot, stir-fry, Mulligan stew, fishwada, whatever you want to call it, will either flourish or eventually become a disgrace in the eyes of humanity. And although we occasionally take a step back, for the most part we are making progress even if we don't elect a non-Caucasian president anytime soon. The idea that for "an empire" to be successful that it needs to be dominated by one particular ethnicity, race, color, or creed, is absolute ignorance and unAmerican.

WakkieRob; I do not see what being in the service HAS ANYTHING to do with this. I too did my part when I flew a fighter in Nam... that has no reference here at all... for this subject and the stuff you are spewing...

Talking about racism is the subject and hatred is not required.

"eventually become a disgrace in the eyes of humanity."

I thought we were already there. Starting with the slaughter of the Indians then the slavery of Africans now the phoney war on Muslims.
It will never end till it is Allah over.

Well Mag, I'm confused now. I thought it was radical Muslims who hijacked those passenger liners and flew them into the twin towers and the Pentegon.
I do know that there are different sects within Islam, but we ARE at war with a sizable part of Islam. If they are NOT Muslims, then we need to hear that from them.
Like, "I'm a rotten murderous terrorist who comes from the Middle East, but I am not a Muslim."
Or, "I'm a Muslim from the Middle East, and I want you to understand that I am in NO WAY supportive of those rotten murderous guys who claim to be Muslims."

Just like I'm Christian but am not one of those radical fundamentalist types who picket abortion clinics and shoot abortion doctors or who scream that you're going to hell.
