    Fathers been in prison I want to move
    My sons father has been in prison for 4 yrs and has 3 more to go I've since moved on with my life and want to move to another state am I allowed to do so since he is not in this state anymore or do I need to go to court

    In general, you would be free to do so, so long as moving the child doesn't interfere with the father's visitation rights. If the father is in prison, unless visitation is to occur in prison, it's difficult to see how such visitation rights could be affected.

    As JudyKayTee asks, is there a court order for visitation? If so, what does it say?
