Dreams are kind of strange. Some people try to understand dreams. I don't. To me, dreams are just your imagination going for a walk while your body rests. I'm not sure your dream really means anything other than you have a very creative mind. I think that once you quit worrying about having this dream then it should go away. Don't lose any sleep over it (pun intended).

    Hi,
What you are going through is a condition known in both psychology and parapsychology as "Sleep Paralysis". When you sleep, you go through different stages. One of these stages is Rapid Eye Movement or REM sleep, or 'sleep-D'. This is your dreaming stage of sleep. When the body sleeps the muscles become flaccid and not prone to movement, thus in a sense, paralyzed - you can't move. This inability to move helps prevent us from physically acting out our dreams, a good thing if you ever dream that you can fly!

Occasionally REM sleep intrudes on an awake period, usually just before or just after falling asleep when the body is going from a conscious state to a subconscious state. Those states are called the Hypnogogic and the Hynpagogic states respectively.

When the conscious mind meets the subconscious mind in that in-between state, you are mentally aware but physically asleep. This condition, although brief can be frightening and confusing. This sleep disruption is where the word nightmare and 'old hag syndrome' come from.

Provided that you are in otherwise good health, you have little to worry about. These episodes happen to everyone. I hope this helps clear things up a bit.
    Take care,
