Should I report this to the police or not?
I split with my partner. I went round to the house to clear my stuff today and found that my belongings in one drawer had been replaced with a huge collection of porn.
All the porn dvds and pictures were of teenage girls - some that looked only 14/15.
My ex is 34 and I chatted to him about 2 years ago after finding "teen porn" googled on my computer. Now, I look very young for my age (I look about 18/19 and am very slim - hence I have the body of a teenager, but am 27. He said he was ashamed of searching for the porn but did it because I was working all the time, he missed me and wanted to spice up our sex life at the weekends. He's never suggested watching porn together, and I was astonished that he has such a collection as I've never seen it anywhere in the house in the entire 5 years we've lived together!
I also found that his camcorder had been used, and he's been filming the young girl across the road - who is only 18! Getting undressed at night, it looks like she was in on the act... getting her boobs out and fondling them in the window for all to see, and masturbating herself.
I really don't know what to do about this, I still love him deep down, but I feel that I've never seen this side of his personality. He is pretty boring when it comes to the bedroom, but the pornography he has been watching absolutely disgusts me! I don't want to report him for fear of the repercussions, but feel I have to!
    Advice please

Maybe this question belongs on one of the legal forums.

Listen to yourself. It's going to be hard, but we have to protect our young ladies. You already have broken up so that's good. It's sad to think you know someone and then they have a secret life. I remember being 12 and grown men trying to take me out. And they knew my age. We have to do better protecting our children. I hear men argue that some girls are just mature. But It's just sad. Do what your head and heart tells you to do.

    Hello c:

If you don't want to report him, then don't. You don't even know WHAT you'll report him for. I don't either.

I would report him. How much younger will he go? 12? 10? 5? I wonder if the neighbor girl's parents know what she's up to in the evenings. Maybe I'd start with them and their daughter. Or him.

This is a legal question not a Relationship question. According to you your relationship was over anyway.

But it is against the law in most of the US to possess pornography involving underage girls. There is no telling whether this guy will act out his fantasies or not. But the risk that he will is too high In my opinion. Clearly, he found, in you, a way to act out his fantasies somewhat safely because you look young enough.

So yes I would report it to the police.

    Hello again,

It's NOT against the law to possess photos of ADULTS dressed up to LOOK like children. Most of the child pornography out there is of THIS nature. That's why, if it were me, before I called the cops on someone, even someone I hated, I'd make sure he committed a crime.

Thanks for your replies. Just to clarify a few things, I originally posted this in the relationship section.
I live in the UK where the legal age of consent is 16.
I've been to see him today, the porn collection was given to him by a friend, he hasn't watched all of it and is also disgusted by the number of very young girls in the collection - but, he didn't make the films, and you hear about underage girls being used for porn all the time, even though the film-makers insist they are over 16. He's now seeing the 17 year old from across the road, bit sickening as he's 34... but her parents are happy with it. Case closed, time to move on :(

I'm not sure what UK laws are on porn, but in the US possession of pornographic materials involving underage children is a crime. He doesn't have to have made the stuff, just possess it.

I would clue her parents in on his proclivities. When she gets too old, he'll move on.

Does it make sense that a friend drops by and dumps a huge porno collection off?
And if he is disgusted by it, why does he keep it?

    Don't just move on, run.

OP he was or is still in possession of a collection of Porn containing possible images of underage girls and it is illegal to be in possession of most porn in the UK and most certainly collections with young girls included in them, its hard to even purchase porn in UK now I do know I also live in the UK.

He should be reported, whether he produced the materials or not he is still in possession of illegal materials.

    That possibly includes peadophilia..

Maybe you think case closed, however that doesn't alter the fact that this ex b/f has illegal and immoral materials...

In time you may go on to have Daughters, would you like to think your daughters had been exploited, we do need to protect our children...

You said yourself he had googled teen porn on your p.c. doesn't that tell you anything.

Also if he's googled teen porn on your p.c. and at some later date he gets arrested for downloading porn, or teen porn, then they can also trace your p.c. through his I.P. address or any he's used to obtain these materials, so you would also be safe guarding yourself. If it turns out its not teen porn, fine, but why Google teen porn just for the hell of it... Plus if there's any on your P.C. they can find it deleted or not...

OP Ive just checked and its actually illegal to have photos of under 18s not 16s.

Child pornography laws in the United Kingdom
    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Child pornography in the United Kingdom is covered by the Protection of Children Act 1978, which makes it illegal to take, make, distribute, show or possess an indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph of someone under the age of 18. In the context of digital media, saving an indecent image to a computer's hard drive is considered to be "making" the image, as it causes a copy to exist which did not exist before.[1] Indecency is to be interpreted by a jury, who should apply the recognised standards of propriety. This law is in force in England, Wales and Northern Ireland; similar provisions exist in Scotland but the PoCA does not extend to there.

The prohibition of content on the Internet that is potentially illegal under this law by British internet service providers is however self-regulatory, coordinated by the non-profit charity Internet Watch Foundation (who has partnerships with many major ISPs in the country).

The 1978 Act was extended in 1994 (by the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994) to cover "pseudo-photographs" - images that appear to be photographs. In 2008 the Act was further extended (by the Criminal Justice and Immigration Act 2008) to cover tracings, and other works derived from photographs or pseudo-photographs. In 2009 all sexual images depicting under 18s, not just those that were derived from photographs or pseudo-photographs, were criminalised by the Coroners and Justice Act 2009.

My take here is the issue is no longer your relationship, but the protection of other girls. He started fulfilling his fantasies with you. Now he has moved onto a 17 yr old girl. When she gets too old, what will be next?

    He needs to be stopped!

You can report this man anonymously so you would be safe in doing this.
If you follow this link you will find how you can report this , or just ring crimestoppers. Or any police station, and you can be assured your identity won't be made known to your ex b/f.

Scott and PP are right. If he has taken pictures of the 17 yr old across the street he has crossed the line.

Follow the link PP has provided and report him. You may be saving some young girl a world of trouble.

Somehow I don't think the OP will be coming back,That's such a shame because in her not coming back some young girl is going to be exploited by sick men.

I just hope and pray the girl lives to tell the tale. Plus hopefully its not a child the OP knows.

Our world is getting more rotten by the day, no one wants to get involved anymore. How sad so very sad.
