    It`s not exactly an islamic term in itself, but it is a praiseworthy concept in Islam. It means striving for the best you can - aiming for high goals. Usually people think of it as becoming doctors and lawyers and big businessmen and politicians and all that worldly prestigious status that people look up to. We are more wise than to merely suffice for this thought, but rather muslims must be more ambitious and ask Allaah for the Firdaus (the higher levels) in Jannat, and seek to live the pure life and worship Allaah with constancy, patience and gratitude, and die the death most pleasing to their Lord, and make their deeds knowing that He is seeing us, and speak their words knowing that He is hearing us, and think their thoughts knowing that He is observing their hearts. Allaahu akbar. We need to be very very ambitious in Islam.
