Trump Denies Peaceful Transfer of Power After Election
In a mind-boggling declaration, unprecedented in over 200 years of United States government, Trump has refused to commit to a peaceful transfer of power if he loses the election.

In a rambling answer to a reporter's question, Trump cited ballots, a rigged election, and the Democratic party as his reasons for his defiance of the Constitution.

AS previously noted here, the mentally unbalanced Trump gets crazier and crazier as the presidential election gets nearer and nearer with November 3 a mere six weeks away.

It's not over yet. Former Defense Secretary Mattis has called Trump "dangerous" and "unfit", quoted by Bob Woodward in his book Rage. Other former Trump appointees are expected to speak publicly regarding Trump's unfitness.

The nation is entering the final phase of its most dangerous time.

"win lose or draw will you commit to a peaceful transition of power " Bottom line ....there will be no transition of power if he wins . The question presumes he will lose .

Then the "reporter" references rioting as if that has anything to do with his question ;and again presumes Trump is the cause of the rioting . Why should he take this clown from Playboy's question seriously ?

Trump mentioned the ballot issue and the clown went back to 'people are rioting ' . It was 100% a gotcha question that did not deserve as much of a response as was given.

But Trump did respond by suggesting that if the balloting is fair that there will be no need for a 'transfer of power '. So part of the problem was Trump giving a response to an unserious question . The question and the all day media frenzy over it did not move the needle .

There will be a new phony issue tomorrow ;grist for the mill ,to feed the weekend talking points .
That will be forgotten by Tuesday as the debate takes center stage .

And if the balloting is "unfair" according to Trump? What then?

Tom, your defense of Trump always surprises me.

So part of the problem was Trump giving a response to an unserious question
The question was as serious as can be. Trump's answer is circulating world-wide in all media. Unserious? Your boy is going down, tom. Get used to it.

Even Moscow Mitch looked a bit shaken and said Trump's crazy ... well, no, he didn't go THAT far yet. Other stalwart Trumpsters also chimed in on Twitter and in public that the election will be held.

e.g., “The president says crazy stuff. We’ve always had a peaceful transition of power. It’s not going to change,” Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) said.

(Why else does Trump want to stack the SCOTUS with conservatives before November 3rd?)

The dufus talks a lot of crap, but NOBODY knows what he will do, but the real fear is whatever he does will repubs go along with it? Of course they will no matter what they say. That's the REAL danger of this dufus. Between elected officials and true believers anything can happen.

The election will be held, is that even in doubt? It seems the President is not the only one to say crazy stuff.

    for the pundits here;

    The election will be held

there will be a peaceful transition no matter who wins

there is no danger the US will become a full autocracy

Trump should have replied, "If I win, do you suppose the rioters will commit to this supposed transition?" That's the real question. How much you want to bet that this Playboy reporter (if such a thing really exists) hasn't asked that question of the rioters?

Yeah, and I'm sure the Harris/Biden ticket and Pelosi will gracefully concede if the election is close and the mail-in ballots, with all of the strict security surrounding them, have not all been counted yet or even found.

and yet it was Evita that advised Quid to not concede

His reply should be if asked again ..... 'did the Dems that attempted a coup in 2017 and impeachment in 2020 accept a peaceful transition ? '

I'll take that for what it is an attempt at loony right wing humor.

They're not supposed too, neither is the dufus. Do you even read what you wrote?

The dufus earned his impeachment, worked hard for it, but there was no coup attempt just the lawful expression of dissatisfaction. Come on can't you conservative spin better than that this morning.

I don't care if the dufus concedes long as he leaves when he loses, and kicking and screaming is okay too. Now a perp walk would be ideal!

oh there was definitely a coup attempt .This weeks revelations about the Steele Dossier source (Igor Danchenko)and the actions of the FBI confirm it .The primary source that Steele used to compile his dossier was the subject of an FBI counterintelligence investigation 2009-2011. Danchenko mostly used gossip with another source in Russia . Much of Danchenko’s supposed intel gathering occurred while drinking heavily with his friends back in Russia. The FBI knew Danchenko’s heavy drinking was a factor in his “intelligence gathering,” but it doesn’t appear to have given the bureau any second thoughts about his credibility.

When the FBI learned the truth ,they withheld that information from FISA when applying for warrants and renewals . This information had been in the Horowitz report as classified . It was declassified this week .

    https://www.judiciary.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/AG%20Letter%20to%20Chairman%20Graham%209.24.2020.p df

Danchenko also worked at the lib think tank Brookings Institution. Danchenko was close to Fiona Hill, whom he described as a mentor. Hill went on to be employed at the National Security Council specializing in Russian and European affairs. She was a star witness against Trump during the sham impeachment .

The president of Brookings, Strobe Talbott, was a prominent Bubba adm official who was instrumental in circulating the Steele Dossier around Washington before it became public. Further proof that a Dem cabal was engineering a coup attempt .Talbott was considered a Russian source by Russian spy Sergei Tretyakov. A charge Talbott denies .

Steele claimed Talbott learned about his dossier work from either Susan Rice or former Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland. You remember Nuland because she was deep in the impeachment also . Susan Rice you recall wrote a cya memo to herself before the emperor's cabal left the White House saying that everything that happened was done properly . She was also in the Jan 5 2017 White House meeting where options about Flynn was discussed . (where Quid suggested that they use the Logan Act against Flynn)

The new release of exculpatory evidence in the Flynn case reveal that the FBI agents tasked by Comey to take down Trump and Flynn during and after the election were so concerned about their potentially criminal behavior that they purchased liability insurance less than two weeks before Trump was inaugurated.

    https://www.scribd.com/document/4773...icane-Handling

This is all FINAL proof that Flynn was framed and that the DOJ directive that charges against him be dropped should immediately be granted . The names of the agents responsible for the texts are redacted .But the documents included handwritten notes and texts from Peter Strzok, Andrew McCabe, Lisa Page, and FBI analysts who worked on the investigation of Flynn. When they found out that Jeff Sessions was to be AG ,they moved to get him recused because “The new AG might have some questions…then yada yada yada…we all get screwed.” Text messages suggest that FBI agents deliberately kept the case open despite finding no evidence against Flynn. Several texts show that the order to close the criminal investigation against Flynn came as early as election day November 8, 2016.

I'm going to go way out on a limb and suggest that you have already decided to label it spin. Anything favorable to Trump is labeled "spin" by default.
