    Appropriate Monetary Graduation Gift
    I'm looking for the appropriate monetary gift would be for my cousin's son... they live out of state so I don't see them often but we are close.

    Not knowing your financial situation - if you feel that a gift is warranted (as opposed to sending just a card), I would suggest about $50.

    When I graduated almost 10 years ago, most people were giving me $20, except those like my Dad and Mom. Dad gave me $100, and Mom gave me $101, so that she could say she gave me more... funny. Anyway, with the fact that $20 is now only a quarter tank of gas, I would recommend $50... but if you can't afford it, then give what you can! Anything is greatly appreciated, and it adds up. I ended up getting about $700 in just $10 & $20 increments. It's all appreciated!
