Hi Dr Tom
I just happened to hear the compressor shut down & my fridge kicked into auto defrost. The temp shows -6 freezer & 33 fridge ( this is not correct as nothing in the freezer is frozen )....
-
I do have a 1999 fridgedaire fridge with 2 couplers off the compressor ( picture below ). Could this be used in any way for testing. Sorry just trying to save $$ any way I can.
Thank You
Rob
-
OK
Thank you very much for your Expert opinion.
I think I have enough info so that the tech can look @ the freon level as the problem.
Again
Thank You
Rob
-
OK. Thank You
The compressor is warm but not hot. I can hold my hands on it and it is warm but not to hot that I have to pull away.
Thanks
Rob
-
Sorry
Yes the back cover has been on. I only took it off to clean the condenser coils then put it back on.
Thank you
-
Very Interesting.
Is there Any way to test this or detect a leak ? Is it worth fixing ? I don't mind doing the leg work if it means saving my fridge.
Thank You
Rob

Thank You
I put the cover back on. Is it OK to leave the cover inside the lower freezer area off. It's the cover that goes over the coil & thermostat inside the freezer. I am trying to keep the...

Thanks Chris
I don't have a problem with that but I would like to pin point the problem a bit closer as funds are a bit tight. If it is a coolant leak I would like to find it myself rather than...

I am not an appliance tech by any means but our ice tray has an auger that feeds the ice to the chute. Maybe the auger has stopped working or is jammed with ice.

Was thinking of using an ABS REDUCING COUPLING 2 X 1 1/2
( shown in pic ) about 1" from wye on 3".Hope that's OK
thanks
-
Ok that makes sense but where the drain goes into the wye @ the 3" stack the wye is only 1 1/2".Can I reduce from 2" to 1 1/2" @ the wye ?
Again thanks
-
Hi Mark
You said to run my drain into the 2" wye but the old sink drain is only 1 1/2".Can I reduce the 2" to 1 1/2" @ the wye or should I replace the old wye with a new one ?
Thanks in advance...

-
Again thanks Mark
Assuming that code permits the AAV ( I will find out) & all costs aside, what would you recommend. This is why I would like to plumb it myself (cost wouldn't not be the main issue)...
-
Have you tried Goof off ?
Might work

Hi Just Dahlia
Replace pad & carpet would be my choice.Under pad isn't that expensive & should be replaced @ the same time.
Good luck
-
Hi pacrat52
I would highly recommend using a plywood called "ulay".It looks just like good one side plywood but the inner layers are solid. That being said luan maybe cheaper & would do just as well...
-
I would have to agree with EZHangDoor Patty.
Get the pad with the vapor barrier & tape the joints with Tuck tape. This will acually make the floor feel a bit warmer as well.
Best of luck

Hi stewhil

EZHangDoor & ballengerb1 are correct.
Just besure not to over tighten the 3" screw or you will pull your door out of wack & or damage your door casing. You can also align your door with the screw if...
