Thanks for your response.
I followed Ballengrb1's advice and cleaned the diaphram cap and then flushed the pipes before reassembling.
This seemed to cure the problem.
However. It came...

I dismantled the valve mechanism and gave it a thorough clean.
It seems to have done the trick (for now).
