Take into consideration the amount of hyperpigmentation or scarring. If you have a few marks here and there then yes, 0.025% is the way to go, but if you're trying to correct a lot of damage then...

Not with a lactic acid... lactic acid does not peel the skin, it sloughs and creates cellturn over but the skin itself does not peel. I do 70% peel.

Nah, a 12% is safe enough to do at home, that is extremely superficial peel, that won't scar you unless you leave it on longer than you're suppose to... 20% and higher you should see an estheticien...

Putting on retin a is like a mini chemical peel almost. It doesn't lighten you, but like GG said, when used with a lightener it works better, because it penetrates deeper because retin a sloughs off...
