Can you look on the tube´s bottom(not the boxes,the tube itself)and see what's marked there?

Mine says 05-2-09 I wonder what this mean,exp. Date?(if so I was...

My tubes have one date of 05-2009(don´t know if the date on the tubes are the exp. Date),but on the box are 2012 exp. Date.
