A new toilet brush will clean your coil best if needed... unless it is so bad a removal of the coil after pumping refrigerant back, and taken to get chemical with a hose... hopefully it isn't that...
-
Right now Payne is offering 10 year parts if you register it online. Payne is basically same as Carrier and Amana is same as Goodman. My preference would be Payne.. but do homework on your...
-
Don't count it out yet... Something is definitely getting hot enough to blow fuses... check for a loose wire somewhere, bad connection, capacitor, contactor.or possibly clogged condenser coil, that...
-
Make sure what ever you get put in... look at reputation of company... like previous answer... I don't think you will call Sears for a 24 HR Emergency call... also look at Warranties... right now we...

Sounds like stuck contactor or bad stat
-
Depending on what kind of market you are in... a good average would be 110-150 including labor, service call and transformer... but really depends on your market
-
U won't always feel 24 volts... for sure you won't when you have a dead transformer... but also you need a 2 heat 1 cool thermostat... or a heat pump stat... think about putting an inline 5 amp fuse...
-
U should call a service tech.. u may have already lost a transformer or control board...

Water problems can be very costly to a homeowner... water can derive from a lot of things... dirty coil, wrong amount of air flow, charged incorrectly, a p-trap not installed when needed... save the...

Depends on how many people you have and how big the head

I totally agree with the above answer. You may look into a brand which offers a warranty that will be worthy of price. Now as of March of this year, you can get a full 10 year parts warranty on Payne...

Check your oil pressure... if not getting a good spray you will get the drip. Check your oil filter also.
-
Agree with above... check your drain... if it is slow or frozen it will close a switch. Which will shut you down.
-
You most definitely have a short somewhere in your low voltage. Could be a bad tstat wire, loose wire nut, etc. If you had this problem before you changed your Tstat... you more than likely have a...
-
Yep... refires.. filter is good. It does not give a code I seen. It really doesn't run long enough to get limit switch hot. Refires over and over... does not lock out... so it does detect a flame......

I am having a diagnostic "nightmare"... only due to lack of knowledge of the Lennox Pulse. This is a roughly '90 model. 80,000 BTU... The problem: Furnace lights for about 10 sec- 2 minutes... shuts...
-
Agree with both above... parts are mostly less costly... the main part on Goodman furnaces I find myself replacing is the Hot surface ignitors. Cheap part, almost always can use a universal ignitor....
-
Well... I would hope at 69 outside temp heat won't be running! Most Carriers have the chart on the inside of access panel. ANd that is good question on TXV outside... subcooling? Never thought of...
-
Agree with above answer... if unsure on charge... recover and weigh in at manufacturer specs... gmc's way of checking in heat mode is to get a good measured temp of your line... should be around 125...
-
Try turning your Thermostat to FAN ON position... see if fan comes on... if not... you may have bad capacitor or bad fan motor...
-
I agree with acetc... could be rev. valve... could be a restriction in your refrigeration lines... like debris, kink in line, etc. possible stuck contactor. Check your filter as well... but a unit...
-
Carrier labeling using the "38" refers to the outdoor unit. Depending on why you are replacing compressor depends on if you should replace compressor or entire system. I agree with Hvac1000......
-
Check your air filter inside and make sure all vents are open. My guess is dirty filter or bad indoor fan motor. Good luck
-
Problem could be a dirty or bad flame sensor. It will look like a small metal rod right in the burner area, if it does not sense a flame. It shuts gas valve down until reset or cleaned. Usually will...

Thanks for all your help. Brian

K simple... Cooper Atkins Type K clamp probe... model 4005mk. No batteries, just plugs into multi meter... put probe to Temp setting.. and boom.. reading... just unsure how accurate it is and best/...

Thanks for response... my concern for putting clamp probe in ice water was if it would short out.? I know suction lines are wet... but putting completely in water was the issue... and if off... how...

I have a UEI Multi meter and use a pipe clamp type temp sensor for Superheat and Subcooling... How can I make sure it is accurate? Would it be internal on my Electric meter or on the Clamp? I can't...

Stuck on this: Unit has equal pressures when it starts up... compressor does not sweat even from common suction... the reversing valve selenoid clicks but does not switch... I know pressures along...
-
I agree with the 2 previous posts...most problems, not all are from installer error. Almost all systems are alot alike with the same components, motors and compressors. Due the homework on finding a...

For the money Goodman has the BEST warranty out there. For like an extra $100 for a warranty they will cover up to 10 years of compressor replacement plus paying about $400 for labor, last I checked....
-
Your symptoms are leaning to sounding like a Emergency Heat relay or Sequencer. Depending on your system, some companies have a control board that tells the fan to come one and if it doesn't tell...
-
I agree with the previous post on Goodman. Across the board I work on less Goodmans then the big name Carriers and Tranes. Could be more of those out there then the Goodman. But for the money...
-
Sound like could be loose wire at thermostat or bad stat not calling for fan operation. I would check with G terminal on Tstat which on most units is the fan lead. Make sure good connection. Next try...
-
Closing that vent off or blocking in any way will shut your heat down! That is the exhaust for you gas furnace and will have pressure switches inside your furnace that act as safety devices... so...

I have a customer trying to get 2 thermostats one for up and then down for one hp system... the problem is house is finished and she has a heat pump system.. We have talked with just turn one off...
