For a gas stabilizer to work it should be put in the gas at the end of the season before you store your machine. For the price of it I like to use it year round because you never know...

Hi dm77,
The biggest problem with a small engine that has been sitting is the carb. It is likely gummed up and will have to be cleaned and a new carb kit installed. Hope this helps.

Hi goombies,
I have found the number for these engines right near the push button switch for the starter. It is often rusted and very hard to read. You can try lightly sanding it and the...

Hi jlaz2005,
If your linkage is OK check your drive disc. In my experience it is the most common problem as the rubber wears off the disc and then has to be replaced. Hope this helped.

Most weedeaters are tap & go but if the line is not showing you will have to take off the spool & rethread it. Hope this helped

I use Opti2. I have had very good luck with it. I use it in my weedeater, also my outboard motor and any 2 cycle motor. I swear by it,

There should be 4 bolts to remove and the entire top should lift off. Do not rmove the rivets.

Check an electrical code book. It will give you all the answers.

Check the blade and deck, also the shear key on flywheel

Sounds like either the drive shaft is missing or broken or else the clutch is not engaging.

Hi gandrew55,
You likely sheared the key but you may have bent the shaft also giving you some resistance. Did you bend the blade?

1Mike2,
Different manufactures list different weights for different outdoor temperatures.
I use mostly sae 30 in summer. Use 10w30 or 5 w 30 in winter.
