And if the USB Disk already fomated and contained Partitions and you are using Server 2003 then you just have assign the Drive Letters using Disk management

Most of the Time Question Mark in the Device Manager means that Device Driver are require to functional this Device...
Just Reinstall the Device Driver and @@ what ill happen and if not then paste...

when i tried 2 restart it came up with something like..
windows cannot start up properly due to a recent hardware of software change

First as guys said that Heat may be the Problem if not then
First go and check your BISO Setting for CPU Temp and if u are using P4 I recommend that you should Test your RAM by any RAM testing...
