CK for frozen or damaged pulleys, rem spring assy from seat switch small plastic clip on switch located on seat.

Sounds like a transmission problem. 6 speed? Do you leave it parked outside? If so you might have water in your xmsn with corrosion problems. Only way to tell is to take it apart and look.

Rem carb and clean all orifices with carb cleaner then use compressed air to dry. Old gas clogs up the carb also check your fuel solenoid for proper operation. Its installed at the bottom of the carb.

Your safety swicths could be possibly grounding out your mower.

Rem the spring assy that is installed in the seat switch. That switch if not working right will cut off your mower
