Hi! My name is DJ, and my question is: What is the "hardest granite" it's name, the easiest to obtain, and how do I melt it?

If I were to melt igneous rock (for example granite), and then let it cool, would the re-hardened material still be granite?

I've recently installed new cupboards in the kitchen and would like to install marble tile for the counter-tops. But some lady at color-tile said marble isn't the best choice... and of course I found some really nice marble that would look great?
