    If I bought car from a friend, do I need to have a BILL OF SALE to register the car I bougt in my name?

    You need the title of the car, signed by the previous owner to get it titled in your name.

    While normaly you will only have to have a title signed by the other party, you should have a bill of sale for your protection. And the seller for sure wants one showing there is no warranty given.
