    What's wrong with my hamster?
I have a year old Netherlands White who used to be very lively. However, recently he always look so tired. His eyes are constantly closed and he lost considerable weight. Which caused him to be very weak and limp.

I tried to wash his eyes with cotton n warm water but he just shuts it up again... Please help. Its heartbreaking.. :(

    Hi,

Please continue to keep him comfortable. Make sure he's not in an area he'll get a chill. If he's losing weight he can't afford to use any energy to stay warm.

Is he eating or drinking? How is the "output?" Does he act in any pain when you touch him?

How long has he been this way? Can you take him to the vet?

The vet is really your best option.

Sadly hamsters are fickle, their health can deteriorate very quickly.

For now keep him comfortable, like medic-dan said and bring him to a vet if you can.

    Keep us posted. :)

He doesn't seem to be in pain, bt he is very weak. I've managed to open his eyes nw and he moves a lot more, although he still seems lethargic doing so.

Thank you both for your replies. I'm keeping as comfy as can be. He likes to be carried.

Of course he isn't going to act like he's in pain - he's a prey animal and it's in his nature to hide these things from you.
