We started to date in our high school era. I never heard a high school girl / boy met a perfect match, got married and have lived together happily after. Have you? So, most of us experienced the broken heart problems multiple times.

The more I read all different versions of stories on this board, the more I am convinced that all our heartbreaking pain can be blamed for the mismatching legs between partners.

What a sad reality... You are a perfectly nice & sweet person, have given your heart to the person & nurture the relationship, but only got hurt at the end... the person you are in love with is losing sparks, closing them up, getting cold & hot, and distant. In worst case, he/she is showing their real color, rejects you, and even cheat on you at the end. They fabricate their issues, blame us & leave us or disappear in silence... What a pain, and what a mismatch!

The good news is, it is not your problem. You have healthy legs and are willing to run, but your partner cannot. They are disabled & impaired. Once again, It is their issue not ours. We should be proud of, feel better, and move on to meet the person who has a perfect pair of legs for us. Just a thought.

Interesting analogy, but I think it paints a bitter picture. My ex did NOTHING wrong to me, as in the end, we just weren't the right match... so to say I was an angel and she was the "cold" one would be unfair at best.

I appreciate your wanting to help, but I caution against demonizing someone because their feelings change. It is life and I would rather someone be honest with me than to be unhappy with me. Just because two people break up doesn't always mean there is a villain in the situation.

I wanted to be angry with my ex for so long, I wanted to hate her but if I held onto the grudge for too long I wouldn't have learned all the things I did. Sure she emotionally cheated on me, but it lead me to many good things in life, we talk and are civil, even friendly. There was no villain in the break up, just me angry for not seeing that we shouldn't have stayed together for so long

Pretty good. Yes, people get together too focused on WANTING the other person to be the perfect one, that they don't relaize or take the time to get to know someone's true colors. Its sad but that's just people wanting someone NOW and thinking it will be perfect every new relationship, it would be nice to fnd that prefec one BUT in order to STOP all the heart ache. People should just get to know each other and chose to not go through all of that mess.
