Help! I don't know what to do. I've been dating this guy for over a year. He is a nice, sweet guy and I love him a lot. We have done a lot together, travelled, etc. He's met everyone in my life... parents, family, friends, some co workers, and I have not met anyone in his. He's been married before and has been divorced for 10 yrs and has 3 grown kids with his ex. In the 10 yrs since, I am the longest relationship he has had. He is also quite a bit older than I am.

So we seem to have hit a rough patch. He says I don't make him feel special and I'm choosing to ignore some of the things he has said to me. He seems to be preoccupied with my ex, whom I dated a few years ago, and has asked me a lot of personal questions which I have uncomfortably answered. I'm trying to save us from what seems like the impending break up, because I love him. Guess I'm trying to learn the lesson before I make it... does that make sense? Anyone been here before... out in the relationship abyss, not sure what to do, where to go or how to fix this.

Whatever you do, DO NOT go into detail about things with you and your ex anymore. Tell him that is in your past, and you want to concentrate on him now, not think about your ex. General information is all that is needed. Did his ex possibly cheat on him? It sounds to me like he has jealousy and control issues. You are not helping your relationship by giving in, and giving him TMI! He will only use those things against you and to his own advantage.

Think he is insecure??
