How Am I Supposed To Get Over Friends Being So Fake Through A 5 Year Friendship? They Would Get Mad If I Couldn't Drive Them Somewhere, Or If I Didn't Call But Would Never Call Me. I Don't Want To Be Their Friends And I Don't Miss Them, But Why Do I Feel All These Weird Feelings About Them?

You're angry and disappointed, and you feel like they were just using you. Maybe they were, but you are older and wiser now. Go mix with some happy, healthy people. Don't waste another ounce of energy thinking about those ungrateful people. You sound like you will make the right kind of people a very good friend in deed. Don't let this make you bitter. Someone out there will be very lucky to have you as a lovely loyal friend.

If you let people walk all over you, they will and they will see it as weakness.

I choose my friends well now and I don't let anyone take advantage of me, but that was not always the case. It was learned through the process of establishing who were the users were in comparison to who the genuine friends were.

Get control! Don't let others control you.. They are not friends otherwise.

But you know that now and are wising up. There are plenty of bad eggs out there and good people are hard to find but they are out there and you will find a friend or friends which are more deserving of your good natured qualities.

I wish we lived in a fairy tale world where everyone was kind and good but it just is not like that I'm afraid.

Be prudent but be you - True to yourself and good things will happen!

I am a great believer in that!

While first I believe you get over being friends with these people by realizing that they were never your friends. You think how much better your life is going to be without them.

The reason you feel weird is because you have a certain level of expectations you hold for your friends and desire the same traits back. You at some point hoped they would wake up to this fact but they never did. I think you're a little upset with them and with yourself for not realizing this sooner.
