I want to get back together with my ex, who is also my roommate
Hello everyone! This is my first time posting and I have gotten myself in quite the mess. Hopefully I can get some help. :)

So I moved in with my ex as a roommate. We hadn't dated seriously prior just a short month long relationship that ended cause he has just lost his job, was in school and wasn't ready for a girlfriend. I've lived here a month and we get along great. We started sleeping together again about a week after I moved in. I freaked cause I realized I really liked him & wanted more. I told him how I felt & he said we should probably stop cause we live together. I let it go, we hooked up a few more times. One night about 2 weeks ago we have a talk and I ask him why is it he will sleep with me but not date me. Come to find out he lived with his ex and she stayed for quite awhile after the relationship ended and made him crazy. By the end of our covnersation, he asked me if I wanted to try dating. I said yes.

We dated for a week and I was super sweet to him. I almost think it may have been too much. We go out for dinner the other night and he acts really distant. We get home and I was having an emotional day anyway. I break down in tears... which wasn't completely about him. We end up talking and I tell him I'm scared of getting my heart broken. He tells me he has been holding back cause he in not sure he is ready for a live in girlfriend. By the end of the conversation we're both crying & we break up.

I love him. And I want to be back with him. I really think he cares about/loves? Me too. What do I do? I want to get back together but am not sure how.

Thanks for reading! I can't wait for some advice!

Are you prepared to move out in order to date him?

I really don't want to move out. I love the house. If I move again I don't think I would stay in this town.

Do you think there is a way to stay living together and make it work?

No I do not. You will just play the sleep together game, it will mean little to him compared to what it will mean to you.

I can't/won't sleep with him again. I want more then that.

I don't see what a diffrence moving out would makes. We have our own spaces and lives now. If I did move out and we start dating again. Say it goes well, then what I move back iN here. It just seems stupid to me.

I feel like it shouldn't matter where I live.

There is a huge difference. Living together is very different than dating. Try whatever you would like, but you aren't listening to what he wants either. He doesn't want a live in girlfriend.
