Urgent she wants to ruin my life
There is a girl that I met through a dating website months ago, she has always liked me and wanted me, I did not. She lied and told me she was 18, but really is 17. I did not do anything with her, but I quit talking to her and she says if I don't talk to her she is going to "get me in trouble". I really am scared because if I don't talk to her she is going to start making up lies, and I know that the court will always side with a younger girl. Im at a loss on how to handle this situation.

There is an electronic record of everything you two have talked about. She cannot get you in trouble for this. There is no law that says you can't talk to a minor. I am under the assumption that you didn't use any sexually explicit language right?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say he probably did... What state are you in? The laws on age of consent varry by state. But yeah, if there is any written record of these conversations where she cliams to be 18 you would be OK in either situation.

On top of the above advice, the state you live in may be to your benefit. Some states a 17 year old or even a 16 year is considered "legal." Furthermore, depending on how old you are, there are Romeo and Juiliet laws that might protect you even if you did have sex, which you did not.
The court will always side with the younger girl... or women in general so you do have to be careful but who exactly is she going to report this to? The police will do an investagation and while I agree they would side with her, at some point some one is going to have to look at the conversation record and see this girl is grasping at straws. Furthermore, it's her fault for lying to you, you asked her age and she lied. I don't know if this fits exactly but that's entrapment, she purposely led you to believe something that wasn't true. If she told you she was a minor then you would have quit talking to her. You've done nothing wrong and when you wanted to walk away she started the issue.

Leave this female alone, and deal with whatever she comes up with. Just tell the truth, and come what may.
Don't let her bully you, or blackmail you. Its that simple so keep it that way.
