    Trying to move on.

Hey everyone. I am posting this in response to a previous post I asked about my former relationship. Here's the thread if you want to view it. https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/relati...ce-376857.html

While I did end it with this guy, and have not been responding in any form of communication for almost two weeks now, I have this question that is looming in my mind. I've accepted that the relationship is over and have started reading things that are starting to help me see that my irrational thoughts, feelings, and emotions are quite normal when it comes to breakups. While these sources have been helpful with things to help me move on, they have not addressed my question.

Which is, what if I don't want to get over him? What if I don't want to move on? I know their are no guarantees in life and we all have our problems, but are there any signs as to whether or not I should actually entertain this idea of keeping him in my life somehow (like as a friend) or keeping him removed forever?

If you make that choice then be prepared to live with it. I cannot imagine why you are thinking this way, but good luck to you. I hope you know how incredibly unfair it will be for every single relationship you develop from here on out, as you will not be able to truly devote yourself to that person.
