My boyfriend and I had been together seven months. Everything was great, we talked about living together when he gets out of the Army. We talked about marriage and med/grad school together. I met his mom and he met my family. Then before spring break he told me he felt in a funk. Just not like himself. I thought we would break up then but we didn't. He confessed that he had decided to ask me to marry him but got scared.

Two weeks after this, I had a miscarriage. I never knew for sure I was pregnant but I decided to tell him since we were always honest with each other. He basically abandoned me. He took me down from his Facebook and would not talk to me. All the while, I'm having to take midterms while cramping from a miscarriage.

Finally he tells me that he loves everything about me but he just needs some "me time". He told me I'm perfect the way I am and in no way did I do anything wrong. He said he just needs to be left alone for a little bit. I feel so hollow right now. This was the person I pictured spending my life with.

Men don't, he does. It appears perhaps he has a depression issue, or a interpersonal relationship issue. Perhaps he does not know how to deal with you and emotions.

But you need to explain that his behavior is not acceptable.

That's what usually happens when you squeeze so much into just 7 months, you get overwhelmed and have to get your head back together. Its not just men, women do it to. And come on a surprise pregnancy will overwhelm any one. You both need some healing time.
