Well, leave out skimpy dressing for later...
Does he know you are single? Since you say you are good friends, go out on a casualy lunch or coffee. While there let him know that you are single and are thinking of getting into a relationship (nothing serious to start with). Ask him for a guy's point of view about yourself (be ready for answers, in case he ends up being brutally honest). Or what does he look for if he were to date someone. Over the next couple of weeks continue to drop hints, take advice from him (don't overdo this, you'll make him feel like a brother or just friend). Share some of those not to decent & not too over the top jokes (e-mail, verbally). Once he starts thinking of you that way let him know that you might be getting tickets for a party, show & ask him he wants to come. Cuddle up during that evening... talk stuff (don't be too friendly, act like you are his date... actually you need to draw a fine line there). See how he reacts the next day.
I'm hoping he is single too...

I always like a bit of leg.
Errrr... I mean be nice, you should be nice and yourself.
If he doesn't like you for yourself, then it isn't worth it. You should never compromise yourself for anyone.

By showing him you like him, don't go overboard though. I have found that guys don't like that. Be slightly subtle.

Don't change what you do, or who you are. I know personally (and a lot of guys) just don't like people being fake or trying too hard, like they are chasing you. Just be casual, talk about what you usually do, and try to see if he starts to like you. I almost guarantee, unless he's already in a relationship, that there are or will be some feelings if you hang out a lot.
Also, he may be scared because you are such good friends... he might appreciate you too much to try to do something that may ruin things.

Hi
Why do u want to spoil your relation. You said that you both are very good friends. Just confirm whether he is in love with some one or does he has any imaginations about his life partner move accordingly. Nothing wrong to love a good friend but if you handle in wrong way you may loose a good friend. FRIEND IS MORE IMPORTANT THAT LOVER. I pray GOD on behalf you. Nothing to worry ALL THE BEST
