My girlfriend and I have been dating since we were sophomores in high school (now in college). We go to different schools and I have been making it work by going to see her every chance I get. The only problem is that she is a Muslim and I am a Christian. We always knew in the back of our heads that one day we are going to have a problem getting married. We love each other very much, but I think now the time has come for us to break up. It was not my decision, it was hers. We are on a break right now because she needs time to think it over, but I think she is just doing this to let me off easier. I know she loves me so much and I even told her when the time came I would convert, not just for marriage but for myself as well. She says this will not work because her family will still not accept me. It is not right because if I am a Muslim then everything would be OK, but I guess even converts are still going to be judged. I don't know what to do to make it work, I'll do anything for her. What can we do? Please help

I don't know a lot about religion, except that they are all the same, just under a different name. Kind of like people. Have you begun studying the muslim faith? If you feel comfortable with it, if it helps you express your spirituality, study it and convert if YOU want to. She might want a way out because she can't say she doesn't have feelings for you, but if she truly loves you, as you feel she does, it will never matter what religion you are.

Changing who you are will only work if its for real, for you. If you do it for her, I feel it will not make a difference.

Study her religion, and try to understand, and accept her position, as she has made a decision based on that.
