My girlfriend just recently said that we needed some space apart. We have been together for 3 yrs and headed in the direction of marriage. Our relationship has been great, and have not had any real issues. The other weekend she went to a friends wedding and got very drunk. Her actions made her think that possible this was her body telling her that something was missing in our relationship. Did I mention she got a dwi that night of the wedding? She asked for space and I have given it to her. We have not spoken in about a week. Can this be a normal reaction to an issue like this? She said that she thinks this time apart could be good for us. Has anyone actually got back into a relationship after someone has asked for space?

I'm sure people have gotten back togeher from someone asking for space, but it is HIGHLY unlikely, just be prepared for that by sticking to No Contact

Everyone says that, but there has to be something your missing. Generally something has changed her mind about things, and since you don't know what it is, you sit and think of everything.

Maybe the incident the night of her friends wedding has her thinking of her life as drunk driving makes one think if your lucky, so give her space, until she is ready to talk, and that means leaving her alone.

In all the relationships I have seen, when a couple get some space, and do not work together to solve their problems, they never last.

I don't know what's on her mind, but you had better have a plan of your own.

So how long are you going to wait for her to make up her mind?? That's the question you need to answer.

Hi I'm a girl see I'll give you advice from my point of view of why I would do something like that. Has she ever asked to try something new? If she has she probably wants to be with you and get married to you but she might have had something happen to her before that scares her or gives her the intention to want to stick to something but won't go through with it. I think you should support her no matter what, but mainly talk to her about how you feel and how she feels, what she wants to do, does she still want to stay in the relationship and try again. Talk to her!! And pay really close attention to her when she talks but not so much that you make her nervous. If she really loves you and being with her for 3 years means something to her, it will work out. If you ever need anymore help just ask me.
