[Dark but not Heartless]

I'm 17 yrs old. My friend is in a relationship she wants to end (and, awkwardly enough, one of the reasons she wants to end it is because she wants to be with me). We both like each other very much, but she is having a hard time breaking it off with this other guy, because she's a very sensitive person and is afraid of hurting him.

My question is, can anyone give me ideas for how I can be a friend and help her, without seeming like I'm only doing it because I want her for myself? Thanks.

Back off, leave her alone, and let her make a decision without pressure, or influence from you. If she wants you as bad as she says, or you think, she will find a way to break it up. As long as your there, why should she make a decision??
