I am 17 and I'm not sure if I have had a real relationship... none have lasted longer than 2 months and then the people I date is usually a year or longer but they never ask me out... we do the normal things like go to the movies or go out to eat , I do get intimate with them... so does that count as a relationship or not? I'm lost

You are still young, but I would pay particular attention to the quality in combination with duration before answering this question.

I would say your just dating, but what would I know? Back in the day, sex was a relationship, and now it's a date, so who knows.

I think that you are in a great place, love yourself and eventually the right guy will come. I think what you are really doing is having fun with friends and enjoying their company. Intimacy can be sticky, so wait until you know its right and until someone tells you how amazing and special you are to them.

Well I guess you can call it a relationship. The one think I would like to point out is that you said you get intimate with them. Are the people you are in a relationship with you for you or for the intimacy? Tread softly, and don't let yourself get played or used, because you will get hurt in the end.
