I was dumped yesteday by text after 14 years! At the moment I just feel confused and numb, I just don't know how to handle this at the moment.:confused:

First its not a good idea to piggyback your question on someone else's. This can lead to confusion. You should start a new thread. So I've moved your question to its own thread.

Second, you get over it and move on. If your partner doesn't want to continue a 14 yr relationship and is especially as crude as to do it via a text message then you really don't want to be a part of that relationship.

Yes, it will hurt and the ache will continue for awhile, but the only healthy thing you can do is move on.

He is nothing but a coward he doesn't have any respect for you if he couldn't go about this in a mature way I would not add any fuel to the fire walk away gracefully and do nothing that would justify his action. 14 years is a long time and by him sending you a text to end it shows he must have been a very selfish prson when you were together. It will be very hard to mave on because the way he did this left no closure just know that you will be OK you cannot die from heart ache try taking up a hobby that will distract you and if he tries to contact you I would ignore any and all attempts at least until you have had adequate amount of time to know that you don't need someone to make you happy that you can be happy alone and if a great guy comes along that's just a bonus. Good luck you are worth so much more than that

I am a little curious about what the text said. My girlfriend's last TM to me was, "I need some time." We haven't communicated in 16 days; I wanted to say something like, "Well just take Eternity". Serioiusly, there are a lot of good posts on here and I hope you will make the best of them. Good luck!
