I am so confused. Im not sure what is right and what is wrong.

Im 22 years old and the guy I used to like since I was 16 finally asked me out. We started dating, and after some time we decided to be officially together. A month after he told me that he is going to another country for one year to finish his degree. Two days ago he told me that he is in love with me, but he is afraid to have a long distance relationship with me and he broke up with me. What I hate about the hole thing is that he still wants to talk to me on the phone, and to see me before he leaves for paris (thats the place he's going for his studies). He said that he wants to talk to me before and after he leaves, because he wants me in his life. He said that he is afraid to be with me as long as he's going to be in another country, and he believes that after his studies, if we are still single we can be together.

I didn't know what to do. So now I've asked him to give me some time to think things over, and to decide what to do with our relationship. The point is that I love him, but its going to break me heart and its going to be really hard for me seeing him or talking to him and not being his girlfriend.

If you guys sharpen up your communication skills I don't see why a LDR would not work and really a year is nothing.. it'll fly by. You say you love this man but I question whether he feels as strongly towards you. The fact that he isn't even considering a LDR with you yet still wants you to be apart of his life is selfish. Tell him its all or nothing when it comes to you and then let him decide whether a LDR is really that scary.
