What do you think? Should it be legal or illegal?

When I say someone, I mean for example, boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife, close famil members.

Have you made any attempt to get away from the person and report them?

There are other ways of getting away from someone who is abusive. Whether someone thinks it is right or wrong the judicial system is going to try you for murder. Self defense is one thing, but to premeditate is another. Is this you you are talking about and who is the abuser?

Yes, I agree with your answers so far. K3 is right about the self defense and premeditation.

This would be considered premeditation because you can be sure someone in the court system would find this thread and know that murder was contimplated.

Have you discussed this abuse with anyone?

Taking another's life is never right... unless it happened in a moment of passion where you were defending yourself. For example, some dude was coming at you with a knife, and you tripped him and he fell stabbing himself and died. That would be right.

But if you dislike the way some guy is treating you and you go and slit their throat in their sleep, you would be a convicted murderer.

I would have to consider... state law... each state has its own rulings... killing a life is necessary only if the attacker is carrying a weapon... or is approaching with a weapon in a matter that will cause serious harm...

If you feel your life is threatened you should call the authorities. If you are being abused you should contact the authorities. Taking a life is serious and all alternatives should be used before the drastic step of killing is used. It doesn't matter who the perpetrator is.

Two wrongs don't make a right.

Self defence is one thing but premeditated murder. Well that just nakes oyu as bad as your abuser in many ways doesn't it!
There are other solutions rather than killing someone surely?

I will offend most here, but no, since they should have never had a chance to abuse you more than once, ( twice at the most)

The first time you are abused you should have been gone, period, end of story and then guess what, you won't be abused again and again,

After seeing women spend their rent or food money for men that have just beat them, to bail them out of jail, three or four times in a year,
It does get hard to feel sorry for them, since they keep going back and back and back again and again.

I feel no love for the men, and wish all of them long prison terms, but it should never happen ever past a second time, and normally past a first time

Killing another person is not an option. It is against Gods laws and man laws. Killing somebody makes you worse then the abuser. I do not know exact passage. Do not be afraid of a person who kills you. No person can kill your soul.

It's legal if it's in self-defense, which is to say that your own life was in imminent danger if you didn't first take the life of the other person. Otherwise it's not legal, pure and simple ; what other people may think is irrelevant. If you are in an abusive situation then you've got to remove yourself from that situation. If necessary, get a restraining order against the person abusing you. Every time they do something to you, take legal action against them in the form of criminal charges. Stay completely away from the person and don't alow them to contact you. Change your phone number if necessary ; even move to a new location if you have to. I always get a kick out of people who are victims of abuse yet they keep going back to the person abusing them and never take any kind of action against them. It doesn't make sense.
