Misunderstood
I am 20 years old. I have been living with my boyfriend for 2 years now. Lately its gotten really frustrating our relationship. We fight every day over everything. He has always been a bit jealous but now I have had to stop talking to all my friends. I had to change my number. He is trying to control every aspect of my life. He checks my phone, Facebook, and twitter. I can't talk to with any other guy (even if a friend) without him blowing up the situation. Now when my friends go out. He comes up with something to do so I will choose between him and my friends. When his mad (70% of the time) he yells at me and calls me names. His dad used to physically abuse his mom and is very controlling. I'm scared he will turn out the same way. I'm too young. Help?

There's a one word answer - leave.
You are unhappy, you are being controlled, he's abusive, you know all of the above, why are you still there?
I don't see any misunderstandings here.

Ditto - WHY are you still there?
Control can send a person into a downward spiral of shame and guilt for doing something 'wrong' and pathetic attempts to be 'good.' But I don't see that in you, not yet, because you fight back. So again, WHY are you still there? How hard is it to pack your things and go home or go to a friend?

He is controlling you and will eventually cross the line into physically abusing you. Leave him before this happens. You should not have to live like this and you can do better.

And you shouldn't have to. My sister went through this and it got to the point of abuse... don't accept it.
