Okay, so it's been since July since I had any dates or lady friends. I was crushed with another let down. Well, I've been working on myself and well being. I want to meet somebody, but I'm scared when it comes to talking with someone new. I just feel like if something happens, I'm going to get screwed over again. I've really been messed up with my past relationships and have left over baggage that's stopping me. What can I do to combat this?

I would recommend getting a hobby. To help me (I was in a similar situation 2 years ago when my boyfriend left me for another woman) I joined an internet forum, for my passion or rollercoasters. I made lots of new friends and it helped me get back into the swing of things an being able to talk to people as before then I had gone a bit reclusive. It was nice and it was a safe site with the opportunity to meet up and go to themeparks. If yor not comfortable with that sort of idea look in the local papers for things like book clubs or what ever your interested in. About the baggae, don't worry about it unless it would affect a new relationship. If its something that would affect it deal with that issue first rather than diving into a new situation. Don't deal with it on your own, talk to a family member or a friend and see if they can help you come up with ideas to help you manage baggage, but ultimatly don't worry about it, everyone has issues its just some are larger than others and take abit more getting used to. Don't go looking for someone to be with, plan your life around activities, and friends that you enjoy, and as you meet new people, your confident, happy attitude will attract many. That is if your happy with yourself.

You need to spend some more time working on yourself.
