I'm falling for my friend's boyfriend. What should I do?
I'm 23. My friend (we'll call her Kristin, 20), and I met a couple years ago. We're pretty cool. So a little over a year ago she started talking to this guy (we'll call him Wesly, 24). I never met him but texted him with her from her phone. Joking around. A little while later at her birthday party I saw this cutie. I had my eye on him for a little while and decided I wanted to know more. I asked her sister who it was, I found out it was Wesly. So I'm like oh never mind. Kristen introduced us and we became pretty good friends. I'd talk with them both on the phone. Eventually it got to a point where I'd only talk with him sometimes. Then it got to where I talk to him way more than her. Then way more than anyone. At fist all Wesly and I would talk about was Kristen, but then more came. Soon he was calling me his best friend. I'd been in denial about liking him.
About a month ago I finally admitted it to myself that I have feelings for him. I kept telling myself he's not only is he taken, but taken by a friend. But tonight all hell broke lose. Kristen has been visiting relatives in another country for a few weeks. She hasn't been able to call much at all though. Two days ago through another story I'll spare you the details of, Wesly finds out I'm attracted to him, then that I like him. This is when the flirting starts. First as simply acknowledging that he has always found me attractive. To a little spicy/joking text to all out phone sex. ( before you go saying that's not too bad, Kristen and I are virgins, and Wesly celibate for our own reasons, and I'm sure they've only done that or little more.) I got lost in the moment and didn't think, but after I felt horrible and told Wesly so. He says he wants to stay friends and I agree. I'm so conflicted. He and I had a good talk about it all after, but even still he asked me what I'd do if something happen between he and Kristen. Would I be interested? I told him I wasn't sure. He's still be kind of flirting with me. Today Kristen called while Wesly and I were on the phone. I'm not sure how he'll be after this though. I feel like I'm betraying my friend. I'm a horrible person. Advice. |
