I am 35 years old and have a son that has down syndrome. His father and I aren't together but live together for financial reasons. I am have no job but I am saving little by little to move out. My ex has been an ex for 3 years already and lately its getting to a point that we just can't get along! How can I deal with the situation at hand until I can move out?

You say you have lived together like this for three years - and coped this far. What drastic change has made you so desperate now?

Did you perhaps think that he might turn around and try to make your relationship work better and it didn't work. Does he perhaps see other women now and is this the reason you see no happiness in the future? We really need to know more.

Whatever the reason, I hope that you can work it out for you and your child. Maybe even checking out some shelters or joining a single parent group just to talk to other people would help. Also, other groups with children who have down's syndrome - they might be able to help and give hints on how to cope with your current life.

Hi, its me treasure1834. Well, some things have happened since my last post. One is that my ex and I have seemed to come to a civil ground and we don't fight all that often. Also, I met a nice guy and things seem to be somewhat brighter with him. :) my life is picking up it seems and I am more happier where I am in life now. Anyway, I'm still not have gotten my own apartment but hopefully with the new man of my life, that won't be an obstacle for too much longer. ;)
