My ex has been an ex for two months. A couple weeks ago, we started talking again, and reestablishing our friendship. I'm still in love with him, but he told me he doesn't love me.
Since our Thanksgiving break from school, we've been talking a LOT more. Sunday night, we spent several hours goofing off, during which he got very close to me, and touchy feely, including dragging me to sit on him at one point. Monday he decided to come watch Family Guy in my room. Tuesday we just spent talking on aim and text. Weds, since he didn't see me all day, he decided to drop by my room just to say hi. Thursday, I didn't speak to him at all to see what would happen, and he came to see me because he wanted to make sure I was okay. On a friend's advice, I decided to ask him to a party at school, but on Friday he declined because of how crowded it would be, but he made sure to hunt me down at another event I attended Friday to say hi. In between there's been a lot of texting and iming and he makes sure to tell me how pretty/gorgeous/whatever I am and other comments on my looks.

I just can't figure out if he just wants to be friends or if he really wants more, but can't bring himself to ask me out again. I'm pretty sure he knows I still love him, and the way he acts seems to contradict his just friends thing. Does anyone have any ideas as to what I should do? I'm really confused by his behavior and more than once, I've already informed him how to act as a friend and that he shouldn't be doing some of these things.

Stop being so available for his flirting, and playing with your feelings. He is being what he thinks is a friend, but you wanting more, see it as hope... false hope I may add.

Don't let your feelings keep the facts from you, as your not ready for friendship with him, but still want him around.

That ain't going to work, unless you can face reality, and get over wanting more. It takes time.
