Do you think he is done?
I met this guy once a long time ago and we kept in very loose contact. About 5 months ago we hooked up and started dating. Things have been great. First off I will start by saying there is 10 years difference in our age. I live at home with my parents and he has his own house, our financially situations are also very different. All of that being said we seem to be well suited for each other in so many other ways. He has all of the qualities that I look for in a partner. So we are now approaching our 6 month mark and things seem a little off. He doesn’t seem that excited to see me as much and when we do see each other we just sort of hang out. Very low key. I aware that after a certain amount of time the “honeymoon” stage does wear off but it almost feels like he is just going through the motions. I haven’t brought any of this up to him at all because I know that he has a few stressful things going on right now (Job change, Christmas time, friend dying) and it might be just stress related that he doesn’t seem like himself. Any thoughts of suggestions?

Yes people change during stress times. That's why it is important to date someone for at least a yr before u decide he/she is the one.

He might be just stressed out and does not know how to include u in these moments or he could be the kind of person who will never allow u to be involved with him on these deep levels.

But one thing to watch out for is this problem, in general, for instance every time there is stress, he withdraws or ignores u.
If so , do u want to deal with someone like that?

Stress or no strees u have right to ask people to treat u in a certain way.

He has probable been in more relationships than you.

So this is normal for him

After 6 months things do die down a bit but what your left with is trust. And other great emotions!

STRESS! Oh yes. It can be very annoying

When he is not so stressed out. Have a good talk with him. Tell him how he makes you feel when he acts like this.

    All the best

After the honeymoon, life takes over. Now is the time to see the real way this will play out, and if you pay attention, you will learn, and see if there is a possibility for a future.

Communicate and adjust. Keep it real though.

Be true to yourself. If your feeling upset or worried about these things talk to him. If you don't your relationship will suffer for it, by your doing or his. I'm sure if it is stress related then he will be glad for the opening to talk about it.

I actually think I'm in the same boat as you, except we've been going out 18 months. I don't think men handle stress very well they keep it all in. This year we've been though
    - 2 car accidents(mine)
    - an operation(his)
    - Family issues concerning money on both sides
    - Exams(his)
    - Employment promotion (mine)
And when I confronted him about me feeling he was distant decided wanted to end it, that was in oct and we broke up for all of 5 days before he rang we talked and decided to give things another go, I still feel let down and angry with him and feel something is missing almost-can't explain. Men are more complex than we give them credit for
