Well Firstly, How much do you like him and ask yourself 'is this relationship really worth it'. I don't know about you, but I can't handle controlling boyfriends. Hope I helped

Regarding his insecurity ,try to make him feel better about himself.
If he is the man who brings home the bacon, make sure he knows you appreciate that.
Men want and need to feel they are appreciated.
Its what they do,they take care of family in so many ways. They want some pats on the back.

    Set boundaries.
Don't allow yourself to be bullied.
Don't build your life around him.
Don't argue with him - just state your case and leave it at that.
Let him know that you love him, but that you love yourself more.

Remember, he's only controlling if you allow it.

    Uh, 'cause he's controlling.

You deal with it by not tolerating it. And if that doesn't work, leave.
