Ok so I have a new boyfriend now and am very happy with this guy! He is the most amazing guy I have ever met and I think I am falling in love with him. Ever since we made it official that we are going out I stopped keeping in touch with any exes as I'm a strong believer of karma and would never want to do anything to ruin this relationship.

The problem is one particular ex has started txtng me a lot lately wanting to meet up. It is so annoying because I was completely in love with this guy (went out for a year) but he was a terrible boyfriend and I found it really hard to move on when we broke up. Now that I finally feel like I am moving on and I'm happy he is suddenly back in the picture and I am trying to avoid him as I'm scared of falling into old patterns.. The thing is the last time he asked me to meet up I replyd and said that I'm "busy and maybe another time".. I don't know why but I feel bad about saying this!lol. Even though he always used to be really mean to me I can't help but still care for him. I feel a lot happier when I don't see/talk to him though..

So my question is should I keep in touch with him? I feel rude not to reply if he texts me because I know I will see him around and we had agreed to stay friends.. But in reality I'm not interested in being friends with him as I think it will be too confusing and only distract me from my current relationship in which I'm finally happy after he made me miserable for a year! But I still feel guilty if I'm mean to him and don't know why because after all the stuff he did to me I should hate him but I don't.

Does anyone have on opinion on this situation??

I think if your happy in your current relationship and he was such a horrible boyfriend then don't keep in contact with him.you can be pleasant if you see him but don't feel bad about being mean to him as he was mean to you. If your relationship is good now then why risk something wrecking that?

If interacting with an ex is distracting, don't do it.

What if you let the ex know how you feel, and tell him to back off?

But bottom line, I agree with the breezer and talaniman. It's the relationship you are in now that you care about, and if this ex is going to jepordize the relationship, get the ex out of the picture.

Yup you are totally right I don't want anything to ruin my relationship because this guy is very special! I won't talk to the ex anymore I tried my hardest to make that relationship work and it is unfair for him to come and distract me now after everything he put me through.. Look to the future not the past right lol thanks guys for your help! :)
