A week ago I was on a quad with my boyfriend. He flipped it going decently fast, and did a number on my back. We were with friends so I held in tears, because I am a proud person and did not want to appear childish (but gods did it hurt). I insisted we leave quite soon after returning to the farm, and once in the safety of my car I let myself cry. He got extremely mad at me for crying, and insisted that I stop... I couldn't, though, I was in pain--and confused as to why he was so irritated. This went on for quite some time--he said things like "girls from around here wouldn't cry over this", or "that shouldn't have hurt more than a football tackle". It was extremely disconcerting, I've been with him for a year and he is generally a nice enough person. I went to the hospital the next day and I had torn a large muscle in my lower back and was given anti-inflammatory pills, along with pain killers. In addition to this, I'm quite sure my ribs are bruised because any pressure on them hurts--because I didn't mention my rib pain in the beginning he acts as though I shouldn't be allowed to have it. He is still acting as though I wasn't allowed to cry, or be in pain, and if he touches on the area too hard and I say ouch he gets extremely mad at me and accuses me of faking it to make him feel bad... what am I supposed to do? Am I wrong?

You were injured! He should be concerned about your injury. What you should do is go to the doctor.

You're not wrong, he is. The fact that's he's insensitive to your injuries raises a red flag. The doctor established you had torn a muscle in your back, that can be extremely painful and can cause difficulties with everyday life. If he doesn't understand that, he's way too immature to be in a relationship. If you didn't mention that you got hurt on a quad with him, I would think he was 5 years old.

His insensitivity to your injury is a big red flag. No offense but he treated you horrible and sounds like self centered jerk. When he told you, "girls from around here wouldn't cry over this" you should have told him to just find himself a "girls from around here" I would find someone that really cared about my well being.
