    Roomate/Shrew from Hades
Okay, here's the deal: I let a certain girl, we'll call her "C", stay with me, RENT FREE, for three months in New Orleans. We both ended up moving to Seattle, and I happened to run into her just as my previous apt.s lease was ending. She needed someone to help her with the 900 dollar rent, I needed a place. We split the rent 450/450, although I shared a closet with her son and my daughter, while she had her own... I slept on some blankets on the living room floor, while she had her own bedroom. She NEVER cleaned a THING, and was always dumping her poor kid off on me. Today, I took her kid to the store with me, and when I got back she was gone. She knew my mom was picking my daughter and I up at 7 pm, and that mom REALLY needed my help with something. I called her at 6:45, she said "i'll be there by 7:30, I SWEAR!" Oooookay. At 8:15 she strolls in, claiming that 'her bus broke down and her phone died' and that's what kept her. Whatevah. We have a couple words, nothing too serious (so I thought? ) and I leave to go help moms with her houswork. A few hours later, I get a call from her friend telling me I have TWO DAYS to get out. With my CHILD! I am not on the lease, but my understanding is that 30 days notice is needed to evict a roommate. Is this the case in WA? Can she evict me for nothing? Her friend said they were putting my things in plastic bags; I told her not to TOUCH anything of mine, not to pack it, nothing. I am not on the lease: do I have any rights at all? Sorry for the length, I'm venting a bit. I would never kick her and her kid out onto the street. Never.

OF course she can break the law and put yourstuff in bags and set them outside the door, People do that everyday.

But legally no she had to give you a 30 day notice. But remember that what she is suppose to do does not help much if your clothes and belongings are are gone when she sits them out.

Then you have to hire an attorney and sue her in court over it.

If you believe it is a dangerous situation, move, find a family shelter and move, and then sue her for illegal eviction for your rent money back.
Next stop talking though friends, go and talk to her direct
